Monthly Meetings
Meetings
of the Society are held the third Sunday of each month during September,
October, and January through May. Meetings feature topical programs,
plant auctions, door prizes, refreshments, great hospitality
and fellowship. Monthly
meetings are held at the Forrest County Multipurpose Center. Visitors
and new members are always welcome.

Daylily Gardens
Some
private daylily gardens may be visited at times other than
the specified show dates. These visits are by appointment
only during the daylily blooming season.
Appointments
must
be made in advance of the proposed visit. Telephone
numbers for garden owners are included with the driving
directions to the available gardens.

Public Daylily Gardens and Plantings
The
Hattiesburg Area Daylily Society plants daylily beds in the
area and contributes daylily plants
for other plantings. Listed below are
the current public daylily beds and planting sites, available
for daily viewing.
Forrest
County Multi-Purpose Center
at the Mississippi
State University Extension Building
US Highway
49 South of Hattiesburg.
The
Daylily Society has planted daylilies around the entrance
to
this building. This is the site of the monthly meeting
of the Hattiesburg Area Daylily Society.
Hattiesburg's
Lake Terrace Convention Center
Intersection US Highway 49 and I-59
There
is a daylily bed in front of the Center, and plantings throughout
the parking
area. Hattiesburg Visitors
Center
Adjacent to Lake Terrace Convention Center
Intersection of US Highway 49 and I-59
Plantings
are in and around the Visitors Center, which is in
front of the Lake Terrace
Convention Center. Main Street Baptist Church
US Highway 98 West of Hattiesburg
Turn
left at Hardee’s
if traveling from Hattiesburg. After leaving Highway 98,
turn right in front of the church. The daylily gardens
are on the right as you go around the church
and in the back of the church. You can drive all
the
way around the Church. Church members, who are
daylily enthusiasts, have made these gardens possible. Mississippi Armed
Forces Museum
Camp Shelby
US Highway 49 South of Hattiesburg
Enter
the South Gate. Requirements to enter Camp Shelby include
proper identification,
a valid driver’s license, and
a current vehicle insurance card. Directions to the Museum
will be
given at the gate. The daylily bed is
in front of the Museum. Petal Middle School
Petal, Mississippi
Petal
is located north east of Hattiesburg, just across the
Leaf River on US Highway 11 and Highway 42. Drive on
Highway 11 and 42 until you turn off Highway 11 into
Petal. This turn is shortly after the Leaf River Bridge.
Continue on
Highway 42 through town. The Middle School is
on your left, across from Wards Restaurant. Temple Baptist Church
East Campus - Hardy Street near Kamper Park
The
Church has planted numerous daylilies in the parking
lot.
University
of Southern Mississippi
A
bed with 100+ daylily plants is adjacent to
the Rose Garden at the front of the campus.
There are also plantings near the Cochran Center
and in the garden area
inside Pete Taylor Park, the baseball stadium, on West
4th Street.

sale from their gardens. Since most of these gardens are located at the members’ homes,
it is always advisable to phone first before visiting
